Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor (also known as “Huangdi”)is the first ancestor of humanities who created China and laid the foundation of civilization, the great banner of the Chinese nation standing in the nationsof the world, the symbol of the beginning of the era of Chinese civilization and the source of strength for its continued development, as well asthe cultural symbol of mutual recognition among the Chinese people all over the world.According to theRecords of the Grand Historian, “The Yellow Emperor died and was buried on QiaoshanMountain”. Qiaoshan Mountain is the place where the Huangdi Mausoleumis located, connected with Kunlun Mountains in the north and Qinling Mountains in the south, with a magnificent atmosphere, where more than 86,000 cypresses were planted by the descendants of the Yellow Emperor;among them,more than 30,000 cypresses have been growing for more than a thousand years;itis the largest and the most well-preserved group of cypresses in the world. The Huangdi Mausoleumis a national holy place of common admiration for the descendants of the Yellow Emperor at home and abroad, a spiritual home for the global Chinese to search for their roots and worship their ancestors, and a spiritual symbol of Chinese civilization.

Huangdi Mausoleum scenic area is composed ofthree areas: the Mausoleum Garden, Xuanyuan Temple and Yinchi Park. Huangdi Mausoleum Park is located on the top of Qiaoshan Mountain covered byancient cypresses, with a series of scenic spots in it, such as Dismounted Stone, Lingxing Gate, Hanwu Xiantai, Sacrificial Pavilion, Huangdi Tomb Mound, Platycladus orientalis (L.) Franco (Chinese cypress), Prayer Altar, Longyu Pavilion, etc.; Xuanyuan Temple is commonly known as the Huangdi Temple, a place of worship and sacrifice to Yellow Emperor, and there are mainly the scenic spots, such as Temple Gate, ChengxinPavilion, Stele Pavilion, Humanity Ancestral Hall, Monument Corridor, Sacrificial Plaza, Xuanyuan Hall, etc., as well as the Huangdi's hand-planted cypress, Platycladus orientalis (L.) Franco, Baosheng Cypress and other famous cypresses;SealPool, which is said to be the place where Yellow Emperor washed the seal, witha water area of 300 mu, and year-round microwave ripples and mistcurling up from the water. Around Seal Pool, there’s a2,500-metre fitness trail connecting manycultural nodes and sculptures such as Cangjie Zaozi Garden, Chinese Heavenly Ting (Ting, an ancient Chinese container), Nine Dragons Wall, Yinyin Valley, Battle Garden, LeizuReeling, and Drilling Wood for Fire.

Huangdi Mausoleum is one of the first batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Organizations, thenumber one of Ancient Tombs Category, one of the first batch of 5A Tourist Attractions, a National Scenic Spot, a National Civilized Organization, a National Patriotic Education Demonstration Base, a Cross-strait Exchange Base, an International Cultural Exchange Basefor Overseas Chinese, a National Civilized Tourism Demonstration Zone, a Chinese Folk Culture Tourism Demonstration Zone, the Hometown of China's Huang di Ritual Culture, and the HuangdiMausoleum Ritual Ceremony has beenincluded in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
