There are 459,000 students at school, including 54,000 in regular senior middle schools, 15,000 in vocational middle schools, 106,000 in junior middle schools, 208,000 in primary schools, 75,000 in kindergartens, 451 in special education schools and 390 in primary teaching schools. There are 53 provincial-level demonstration kindergartens, 6 provincial-level demonstration senior middle schools and 16 provincial-level standardized senior middle schools.
